Primer: cutting a long book to fit an intake
When a book is longer than a tool's ceiling, it has to go in as parts. Cut at a natural break, a chapter or a scene, so that each part opens with a place and ends with a turn, and keep a short cast note to carry between parts. From 6 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.
Measure each part in the tool's own unit. A counter under a box is the easiest check; a character, word or page limit needs counting before pasting.
The largest stated ceilings on the register are in words and characters, 100,000 words on one tool and about 300,000 characters on another; most box counters are a few thousand. How parts become episodes is outside the register.

2From source text to episodes
After the intake question in “Cutting a long book to fit an intake”, SceneMixer describes what it does with the text:
Doubao Seed 2.1 Pro is the family’s full-size tier at 100% of the base text rate, twice the default. Same three jobs — reading, writing, storyboards — with more headroom on long, crowded episodes: it holds the storyboard’s strict format more reliably and keeps track of many characters and locations in one pass.

A script longer than about 10,000 characters (counted as Chinese-equivalent characters) is read in two passes: first the cast, sets and props, then the episode list with a short outline per episode.
