What novel and script to video tools accept as source text

Primer: when reading the text is billed

Reading the text is a separate cost from making video, and vendors treat it three ways when they say anything: free before generation, counted against a plan, or priced by the length of the text. From 6 source pages, read 2026-09-25 to 2026-10-25; no maker pays to be listed.

A length-priced reading makes a long manuscript cost more from the first run. A plan-counted reading caps how many manuscripts can be read in a month. A free reading makes it cheap to try the same text twice.

Most vendors say nothing on the point, and none states what a second run costs in so many words. The plan page is where to look before a large import.

2From source text to episodes

After the intake question in “When reading the text is billed”, SceneMixer describes what it does with the text:

Doubao Seed 2.1 Turbo is the tier every account uses for text work until you change it: it reads the script, writes with AI when you ask, and generates each episode’s storyboard, at 50% of the base text rate.

A script is read once per project; switching affects new tasks, such as regenerating a storyboard.
